What is Management English Intelligence?
The term Management English Intelligence is a concept of business education that refers to the language, applications and practices for the learning, understanding, analysis and presentation of technical business information. Students learn professional competencies in transnational and multi-domestic environments, with an international dimension in the curriculum. Lesson plans include case studies and real business projects which are implemented according to the "learning by developing" model. Management English Intelligence describes a set of concepts, vocabulary and expressions to help understand and increase the use of technical business phraseology and collocations especially for non-native speakers of English. In an age of global communication, many business professionals are let down by the simplest of tools - the language they speak. Invariably, both British and American English have become the universal language of business. As a result, many companies are now fully aware of the need for their employees to have a good command of Business and Management English for the purpose of organising and co-ordinating international What is Management English Intelligence? 2 projects, doing presentations, negotiating or simply polishing their credentials for more challenging management assignments. The snowballing of business information on the internet can be fully exploited with a working knowledge of Business and Management English. Possessing excellent Business English language skills is a sure way of showcasing your management attributes, giving you an edge at an interview, opening up more interesting career prospects, increasing your earnings potential and making you more "footloose" in an increasingly global business environment. Globalisation recognises no borders in doing business. In order to successfully participate in the corporate exchange and networking of ideas and experiences, one needs a global instrument of communication that is the language of Management and Business English.

A tribute to the author

Why should anyone want to write "another" book on Management English? Aren't there enough of them going around? Well, the question is not "how many" but "how good"! Clement Wulf's new book must easily count as one of the most concise and enlightening books on the subject. I can truthfully say this because as a teacher of this subject myself, I have yet to meet someone whose in-depth knowledge on any Business English topic is as complete as his. In addition, Clement is by far the most competent teacher of Business English I have ever met, which is not automatically the case when one knows all about a subject, as we all know. He is absolutely up-to-date on all economic topics and can speak at length on any of them and at any given moment. This is not something your run-of-the-mill author, let alone teacher, can do. As an added bonus, his language is so eloquent that one sometimes just has to sit back and savour the moments. This book is just a beginning; of that you can be certain. Clement's dedication to the subject and thirst for perfection won't be quenched with just this one piece. This can only be the first of some giant steps which Clement has been waiting so long to take. I am absolutely certain we will all be hearing much more of and from him very soon.
